In early August I spent a week on Maui, staying in Lahaina along the western coast of the island. Over that week, I spent countless hours exploring the town, befriending the local chickens, and exploring all corners of the island. My week included crumbling dirt roads in an under-powered sedan, vast rain forests, scenic coasts, and volcanic peaks. Just days after returning, I watched a tragedy unfold as the town and island were engulfed in flames. These photos are a saccharine reminder of that visit and all the small moments I should have appreciated a little more.
